24 Months of Relationship Building. 10 Days to an Accepted Offer.

Successful practice transitions don’t begin when a practice goes on the market, they begin years earlier through relationships, trust, and preparation.

My first contact with Dr. S occurred nearly 24 months before her successful sale. At the time, her practice was listed with another broker and remained on the market for almost two years without attracting a buyer. Although we stayed in touch, the timing wasn’t right.

In August 2025, Dr. S reached out again. Due to health concerns, a timely transition had become a priority. We quickly reviewed the practice numbers, updated financial information, and prepared a strategy to bring qualified buyers to the table.

The practice was officially marketed in mid-October 2025.

Ten days later, Dr. S accepted an offer.

While our relationship with Dr. S spanned 24 months, the ability to generate a near full-price offer in just ten days was the result of years -- actually decades -- of relationship building throughout the dental industry. Relationships with dentists, lenders, attorneys, consultants, and prospective buyers don’t happen overnight. They are built one conversation, one transaction, and one successful outcome at a time.

Because those relationships were already in place, we didn’t have to start searching for buyers when the practice came to market. We simply connected the right opportunity with the right people.

Although year-end delays pushed closing beyond the original target date, the buyer remained fully committed and doubled his earnest money deposit to demonstrate his intent to close. The transaction successfully closed in February 2026.

Key Takeaways

• Relationships built over years often create opportunities when timing becomes critical.
• An established buyer network can dramatically reduce time on the market.
• Health-related transitions do not have to result in distressed sales.
• Experience, preparation, and trusted relationships still matter.

Congratulations to Dr. S on a successful transition, and best wishes for health and happiness in the years ahead.
